Full Description
APRICOT HARVEST. 153 ft. At Roxburgh, Central Otago, apricots are boxed for market or made into jam at the local factory. Skilled pickers are shown at work in the orchards.
AXEMEN'S CARNIVAL. 218 ft. Leading axemen and sawyers compete at Putaruru, and M. Jensen wins the handicap cup for the third time.
MARAETAI IS BUILT. 554 ft. Progress on this great hydro-electric scheme was delayed by damage to the imported gate-lifting cylinders. With these repaired the lake is partly raised, and the valley flooded. After tests the lake is raised further, and electricity is sent out into the North Island system.
