Illustrating the work of various breeds of dogs in New Zealand, the film opens with a short sequence of show dogs, then goes into the field with sporting dogs after rabbits, duck and pheasants. Greyhounds are shown coursing, and hunting dogs engage in a tussle with a wild boar. Highly trained sheep-dogs show their skill at an Agricultural and Pastoral show, and on dairy farms and large sheep stations we see the great value of the dog to our primary industries.
