WHAT'S COOKING IN KOREA. 230 ft. Christmas supplies go up to the Battery area in Korea, where the turkeys and other palatables are cooked in a Hangi, or Maori oven, by Maori soldiers. Following tradition, Christmas dinner is served by the officers, while the war goes on.
WORLD RECORD SHEARING. 198 ft. Godfrey Bowen shears 456 sheep in a nine-hour working day, and gains the world shearing record.
THE GEOTHERMAL BORES. 385 ft. The Karapiti blow-hole, and steam bores and equipment in the Wairakei geyser region. Sir John Cockroft's visit to Wairakei, and the blowing of a new steam bore to supply power for a big pulp and paper mill.
