Full Description

Just coming into full production off the coast of New Zealand is a large offshore natural gas field. This film is an uniquely complete record of Maui I, the first, wildest, exploration well. From the initial mooring of the drilling ship, 'Discover 2', precisely over the spot suggested by seismology, through to the final production test, the engineering and geological processes are carefully shown: but the film does not ignore the drama storms are common in New Zealand's 'Roaring Forties', and there is a potentially very expensive hitch almost at the last moment ...
